Component diagram
Component diagram
HD = High-pressure end (high density)
ND = Low-pressure side

1 - Compressor control valve, air conditioning -N280-
q   Check activation and operation → Chapter1)
2 - Compressor
q   Detaching compressor from holder and refitting → Chapter1)
q   When fitting the refrigeration agent tubes with the corresponding support, ensure that there is sufficient space between the belt, the support and the pulley
q   Depending on the engine, the design of the compressor may vary → Spare parts catalogue
3 - Belt pulley
q   Replacement 1) → Chapter
q   Removing and fitting the Poly-V belt 1) → Engine, mechanics; Rep. Gr.13
q   Poly-V selection → Spare parts catalogue
  Note
t  Between the pulley and the shaft for operation of the compressor, there is a protection element fitted to prevent overcharging, to protect the belt in case the compressor is blocked or is impeded.
t  The overcharge protection reduces the transmission of force to the compressor if its movement becomes difficult.
t  Between the pulley and the compressor operation shaft there are rubber elements fitted; these reduce vibrations that may arise during the operation of the compressor (operation dampened in case of torque oscillation).
4 - Oil drain bolt
5 - High pressure release valve
6 - Junction with valve
q   Different fitting positions depending on the engine, the position “a” shows the fitting position for 2.0 litre diesel engine vehicles
7 -  High-pressure sender -G65-1)
q   Removing and fitting → Chapter
q   Test the signal → Chapter
q   Different fitting positions depending on the engine, the position “a” shows the fitting position for 2.0 litre diesel engine vehicles
8 - Condenser
q   For those vehicles designed for degraded roads there may be an additional protection in the lower area against stone impacts
9 - Liquid tank
q   The liquid tank is fitted directly on the condenser
10 - Service connection
q   High-pressure end
q   Different versions (with primary seal valve or Schrader valve) depending on the coolant hose, distinguishing features → Air conditioning - with refrigerant R134a
q   For service station (measurement of pressure, draining and filling of the air conditioning circuit → Air conditioning with refrigerant R134a
q   For workshops specializing in climate control, for measurement, drainage and filling → Air conditioning with refrigerant R134a
q   Depending on the version of the engine fitted, it may be necessary to remove certain components (for example the active carbon filter) to connect the charging station
  WARNING
Only remove the service connections when the refrigeration circuit is empty; they do not have valves.
11 - Cap
q   With seal
q   Screw in
12 - Expansion valve
13 - Evaporator
14 - Service connection
