Refitting
Refitting
–  Clean the lines of the primary shaft and lubricate lightly with -G000 100- grease.
The clutch disk must be able to be moved easily from one side to the other on the primary shaft.
–  Check whether there are adjustment bushings to centre the engine/gearbox in the engine housing; if not, fit.
–  Place the gearbox on a column hoist.
–  Place the column hoist with the gearbox under the vehicle.
–  Pull the engine forward with the help of a second mechanic.
–  Fit the gearbox.
–  If necessary, turn the crankshaft until the teeth of the primary shaft fit into the teeth of the clutch.
  Note!
When fitting the gearbox, make sure that the primary shaft and the adjustment bushing fit correctly.
–  Screw in the rear lower and upper nuts holding the gearbox to the engine.
   
–  Fit the threaded bolt -arrow- and tighten the nut holding the engine to the gearbox.
–  Fit the cover plate to the flywheel.
–  Lower the vehicle.
–  Screw in the upper central nut and the double front bolt.
–  Centre the engine unit using the spindles of tool -U-30025-.

–  Tighten the central bolt -arrow- of the right support -1- of the gearbox.

–  Tighten the three hexagonal bolts -arrows- of the left console supporting the gearbox (one of the three bolts is not visible in the picture).
–  Fit the central bolt -1- joining the left engine support to the elastic stop.
  Caution
-U-30025- until all of the bolts of the left support of the gearbox have been tightened to the corresponding torque.
–  With the engine support properly fitted, remove the crossmember -U-30025-.
–  Raise the vehicle.

–  Fit the pendular support by fitting bolts -3-, nut -2- and bolt -1-.
–  Insert the ball joint of the oscillating arm without tightening the fixing bolts, and locate the left jointed half-shaft to the outlet shaft.
–  Screw the ball joint to the oscillating arm (bolts on the old mark).
–  Fit the front left wheel.
–  Link the joined half shafts to the outlet shafts.
–  Fit the exhaust system. → 4 cylinder injection engine (1.0 litres), mechanics; Rep. Gr.26
–  Plug in the connector for the reverse lights.

–  Fit the bolt of the lower coolant pipe -arrow-.
–  Fit the protector plate of the flywheel.

–  Clip the gear change cable -arrow A-.
–  Tighten the bolts -arrows-.

–  Tighten the central bolt of the gear selector shaft -arrow-.
–  Fit the lower right protection of the engine.
–  Lower the vehicle.
–  Fit the starter motor. → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27
–  Fit the air filter unit with all of the vacuum tubes and breathers of the engine block.

–  Tighten the fixing bolts -arrows-.
–  Fit the flexible tube for the breather of the engine block in the air filter.
–  Fit the engine revolution transmitter -G28-.
–  Fit the cables in the support next to the gearbox.
–  Join the connector of the speedometer transmitter in the instrument panel.
–  Screw in the ground cable.
–  Fit the clutch cable in the gearbox and tension → Chapter.
–  Fit the battery support and the battery
–  Connect the ground terminal of the battery.
–  Fit the engine cover.
–  Check the gearbox oil level → Chapter.
–  Adjust the gear change → Chapter.
