Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Kit (case) -U 40300-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Base -A-81124-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Lever -T20043-, see equivalent → Anchor

   
Identification of commutation pins for gearbox prongs
Gap „a“
1 - 1st/2nd gear selection group = 11.4 mm
2 - Selector segment for 3rd / 4th gears = 7.7 mm
3 - 5th gear selection base strip = 12.1 mm

Remove spring washers
–  Secure prong in workshop vice with jaws -B-.
–  Lever off lock washer -A- in -direction of arrow-.

Fit spring washers
–  Press the spring washer in the groove of the bolt with a handled socket spanner.
  Note
After installing the spring washer, the commutation bolts must be able to move slightly.
A - Handled socket spanner, e/c 10 mm

Removing the inner ring of the ball bearing
  Note
On removing and installing the inner rings, they do not bend the prongs.

Fit the inner ring of the ball bearing up to the stop.
