Selector lever: separating and fitting > < Removing

  Note!
t  Check that the selector lever cable protection cover is not damaged.
t  Avoid bending or twisting the selector lever cable.
t  Before fitting the cable, grease the end eye slightly.
   
–  Before fitting the selector lever cable, fit the nozzle -arrow- on the selector lever casing.
–  Pass the cable over the gearbox and insert it into the subgroup support and the protective cover.

–  Fit the selector lever cable on the selector lever casing support -arrow-.
–  Fit the front heat shield.
–  Fit the front support and screw in the bolts.
Tightening torque: 25 Nm
–  Fit the front part of the exhaust assembly with catalytic converter: → Rep.-Gr. 26.
–  Place the selector lever in “N” position.

–  Turn the locking lever downwards -arrow 1-, insert the cable eye -arrow 2- into the selector lever and secure with a new safety washer.
–  Inser the selector lever cable into the gearbox support and secure to the support on the engine bay.

–  Fit a new safety washer -1- for the selector lever cable on the gearbox support.
–  Fasten the selector lever cable to the selector rod.
Tightening torque: 25 Nm
–  Change the selector lever from “P” to “1”. To do so, push the selector lever pushrod.
l  The gear drive mechanism and the selector lever cable action must move easily, replacing the selector lever cable or repairing the gear drive mechanism where necessary.
–  Fit the selector lever cover.
–  Fit the sleeve trim.
–  Fit the selector lever knob → Chapter.
–  Adjust the selector lever knob → Chapter.
