  Note!
To carry out this work it will be necessary to disconnect the battery earth strap. The vehicle should be checked for a fitted radio. If necessary, obtain radio anti-theft code first.
–  Place the lever in “P” position.
–  Disconnect the air filter intake tube.
   
–  Remove the air filter by removing bolts -arrows-.

–  Remove the selector lever cable -2- from the selection rod -5-.
–  Remove the safety washer -1- from the console.
–  Remove the selector lever knob → Chapter.

–  Remove the selector lever cover by levering at points -arrows- and disconnect the cigarette lighter connector.
–  Remove the protective bushing.
–  Position the selector lever at “P”.
–  Dismounting the center console: → Bodywork, interior mounting work; Rep. Gr.68
–  Place the selector lever in “N” position.

–  Remove the safety washer for the selector lever cable -arrow 2-.
–  Turn the locking lever downwards -arrow 1- and release the selector lever cable.
–  Remove the front part of the exhaust assembly with catalytic converter: → Rep.-Gr. 26.

–  Remove the front support -arrows- for the exhaust system.
–  Remove the front heat shield.
–  Remove the selector lever cable from the support on the subframe.

–  Remove the selector lever cable from the selector lever casing support -arrow-.
