Connecting V.A.G 1551
   
Connecting -V.A.G 1551-
–  Remove left-hand shelf.
–  With the ignition switched off, connect the -V.A.G 1551- fault reader using cable -V.A.G 1551/3B-.
  Note!
t  If the display remains blank, check voltage supply for diagnostic connection according to fault finding programme: → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
t  If the display does not indicate the messages described in the work sequence: → Current flow diagram instructions.
t  If due to an input fault “Fault in the data transfer” is displayed, remove wire from fault reader, reconnect and repeat work step.

  Note!
t  Using the HELP key on -V.A.G 1551-, other operating instructions can be consulted.
t  The → key is used to continue to the next step of the programme.
t  In the operating mode 1 “Rapid data transfer” the automatic test sequence can be carried out (keys 00). Then all vehicle control units will be interrogated automatically: → Fault reader operating instructions.
