Removal
Removal
–  Place the vehicle on an elevator bridge.
–  With the ignition switched off disconnect battery earth strap.
–  Remove upper engine protection assembly.
–  Remove air filter → Chapter.
–  Remove Poly-V belt → Chapter.
–  Loosen the bolts that fix the alternator to the support.
  Note!
In versions with tensioning roller, the lower bolt must be moved with the -U-40010- tool in order to remove it.
–  Move the alternator to one side. It is not necessary to disconnect the electrical connections.
Versions without air conditioning
   
–  Remove the nuts -1- and the bolt -2- that fix the alternator support to the coolant pump.
–  Remove the coolant pump pulley (to loosen the bolts, use the -T20159- tool).
Versions with air conditioning
  E19-0079
–  Remove bolt -1- which secures the compressor to the support, and bolt -2- which secures the support.
–  Lower the vehicle.

–  Remove the bolt -arrow- which fixes the air conditioning compressor to the support.
–  Move the compressor to one side, secure it conveniently without forcing the installation tubes.
–  If necessary, remove the flanges which fix the air conditioning tubes to the radiator.

–  Remove the nuts -arrows- that fix the support to the coolant pump.
–  Separate the support.
Continues for all vehicles
  E19-0082
–  Drain the coolant. To do this, it is necesary to extract the safety clip -1- and the sleeve -2-, remove the hoses -3- and -4-, then remove the clips using the -T20029- pliers.
  E19-0078
–  Remove bolt -1- that secures the protection to the pump.
–  Loosen the bolts -2- that fix the coolant pump to the cylinder block.
–  Remove the coolant pump.
  Note!
The coolant pump cannot be repaired. If anomalies are seen, such as seizings or losses, replace it.
