Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Torque spanners -SAT 8010-
t  Tool -U-40082-
t  Adapter -V.A.G 1381/12-
t  Compression tester -V.A.G 1763-

Test conditions
t  Battery in good condition.
t  Engine oil temperature: at least 30 °C.
t  Fuel cut-off valve connector (injection pump) disconnected.
t  Connector to the injection pump dosifier mechanism, disconnected.
t  Remove all the pre-heating plugs with tool -U-40082-.
   
–  Put the -V.A.G 1381- or -V.A.G 1763- compression tester in the plug housing. To do this, it is necesary to place the -V.A.G 1381/12- adadpter in the pre-heating plug locations.
–  Operate starter until tester shows no further pressure increases.
The compression values should be between:

The maximum permitted difference between the cylinders must not exceed 5 bars.
  Note!
Once the compression has been tested and all the previously mentioned elements have been disconnected, it is necessary to interrogate and erase the fault memory, as faults are memorised when the connectors are removed → Rep. Gr.01.
