Accelerator pedal position sender: adjusting

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Fault reader -V.A.G 1551- or vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552- with cable -V.A.G 1551/3B-

Work sequence

–	Connect fault reader -V.A.G 1551 (V.A.G 1552)- and select engine electronics control unit with the “address code” 01. The ignition must be switched on: → Rep. Gr.01

Indicated on display:

–	Press keys 0 and 8 for the function “Read measured value block” and confirm entry with Q key.

Indicated on display:

–	Press keys 0, 0 and 2 for “Display group number 2” and confirm entry with the Q key.

–	Check the indication of the accelerator pedal position in field 2, without pedal being pressed.

Specification: 0.0%

Read measured value block 2           ->

0/min      0.0 %      0 1 0      18.4 °C

–	Slowly press the accelerator pedal completely, observing display field 2. The value of the accelerator pedal position should increase continuously, reaching:

100 % a little after reaching the full throttle limit

Read measured value block 2           ->

0/min      100 %      0 0 0      18.4 °C

–	If necessary, adjust the accelerator pedal -2- by turning the adjusting screw -1-, in such a way that it displays:

0.0 % with the accelerator pedal not pressed (idling)

100 % with the pedal pressed until a little before

the full throttle limit
