Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Spanner -U-40082-
t  Torque wrench -SAT 8010-
t  Adapter -V.A.G 1381/12-
t  Check compression -V.A.G 1763-

Test prerequisites
l  Engine oil temperature at least. 30℃
l  Battery voltage: min. 12.5 V
Checking sequence
–  Disconnect the central connection for the pump injectors.
–  Unscrew the glow plugs using spark plug spanner -U-40082-.
   
–  Screw in the adaptor -V.A.G 1381/12- in the place of the glow plugs.
–  Check compression with compression tester -V.A.G 1763-.
  Note
Use of the testing equipment → Instructions.
–  Operate starter until pressure reading on tester no longer rises.

–  Fit the glow plugs using spark plug spanner -U-40082- to the torque of 15
–  interrogate fault memory → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051.
  Note
When the central connection for the pump injectors is removed, this is recorded by the fault memory. For this, check the fault memory and, if necessary, clear it.
