Fuel gauge senders -G-: check Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Manual multimeter -VAG 1526E-, see equivalent → Anchor

t  Auxiliary cable kit -VAG 1594C-, see equivalent → Anchor Operation process –  Fold rear seat bench forwards.

–  Unclip the tabs -arrows- of the lock clamp cover.

–  Unplug the connector -arrow- of the lock clamp

–  Connect the multimeter and measure the resistance between contacts -2- and -3-.

Sender fitted	Sender on the lower limit	Sender on the upper limit
Fuel gauge senders -G-	Approx. 270 Ω	Approx. 70 Ω

Note t  To check the resistance (values corresponding to „tank full“ or „tank empty“), the fuel supply unit must be removed → Chapter and the sender float moved all the way to its top or bottom positions. t  If the value 0 Ω is achieved, a short circuit exists; the value ∞ Ω indicates an open circuit in the wire. t  With the fuel level indicator sender -G- removed and, due to the large floater range of movement, the following values are obtained:

Fuel gauge senders -G-	Approx. 290 Ω	Approx. 50 Ω

–  Connect the multimeter and measure the resistance between contacts -3- and -4-.

Sender fitted or removed	Sender in any position
Fuel gauge senders -G-	Approx. 340 Ω

Installation is carried out in reverse order.
