Removing and installing radiator Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Refractometer -T10007-, see equivalent → Anchor

t	Hose clamp pliers -VAS 6340-, see equivalent → Anchor

t	Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor.

t  Centre guide -T20070-, see equivalent → Anchor

t  Collecting tray -VAS 6208-, see equivalent → Anchor Removal: »Carry out the following work sequence«   WARNING The air conditioning refrigerant circuit must not be opened. To prevent damage to the air conditioning compressor and refrigerant pipes/hoses, ensure that the pipes and hoses are not stretched, kinked or bent. –  Remove the underbody protection → Bodywork, exterior assembly work; Rep. gr.50.

–  Remove the connecting hose »hot side«. For this purpose loosen hose clamp -Arrows-.

–  Remove the connecting hose »cold side« from the intercooler. For this purpose, loosen the hose clamp -arrow-.   Note Block the intercooler with a clean cloth to prevent coolant from entering.

–  Detach the connector -1- of the coolant fan -V7-.   Note The item -arrow- can be disregarded. –  Bring lock carrier into service position: → Bodywork, exterior assembly work; Rep. gr.50. –  Drain coolant → Chapter.

–  Unscrew the bolts -arrows- attaching the condenser to the radiator.

–  Remove coolant hoses from radiator. For this purpose loosen hose clamp -Arrows-.

–  Press the upper locking elements -1- on both sides to remove the air duct from the radiator. Take the duct out upwards -arrow-.

–  Unscrew the bolts -1- that fasten the radiator to the lock carrier plate. –  Unscrew the bolts -2- that fasten the condenser to the radiator and to lock plate carrier. –  Remove the radiator together with the intercooler to the top.

Separate the the radiator from the intercooler. –  For separating the intercooler -1- from the cooler, press the locking element using a suitable tool.

–  Move the intercooler -1- to the right and remove from the cooler -2-. Installation Tightening torques → Chapter Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following: –  Fill up with coolant → Chapter.
