Separating new conrod
Separating new conrod
It is possible that the two parts of a new conrod are not completely separated as intended. Proceed as follows if the conrod bearing cap cannot be removed by hand:
–  Mark the cylinder to which the conrod belongs → Item.
   
–  Lightly clamp the conrod in a vice using aluminium vice clamps, as shown in the illustration.
  Note
t  Only clamp the conrod lightly in order to avoid damaging it.
t  The conrod is attached below the cutting line.
–  Unscrew both bolts -arrows- about 5 turns.

–  Using a plastic hammer, carefully knock against conrod bearing cap in -direction of arrow- until it is loose.
