Installing > < Removing, installing and tensioning toothed belt
Removal
Removal
–  Remove the engine protection.
–  Remove the air filter hose from the manifold or the turbocharger.
Engine codes AGP, AQM
–  Remove the upper part of the intake manifold → Item.
Engine codes AGR, ALH, ASV
–  Remove the pipe connecting the intercooler to the intake manifold → Chapter.
Continue for all engine codes
–  Remove the upper guard of the toothed belt and the cylinder head cover.
–  Remove the vacuum pump for the brake servo booster.
–  Remove the Poly-V belt → Chapter.
ngine installed:
   
–  Turn crankshaft to TDC No. 1 cylinder -arrow-.
A - Engines AGP, AQM
B - Engines AGR, ALH, ASV
  Note!
To remove the threaded cap from the gearbox (section A), use tool U-20020.
Engine removed:
–  Install adjustment device -U-20010- as shown.
–  Calibrate the adjustment device -U-20010--arrow A- to:
Engine codes AGP, AQM = 32 mm
Engine codes AGR, ALH, ASV = 25 mm
The left notch on the nonio is the point of reference.
–  Turn crankshaft until flywheel TDC marking aligns with point of setting device -arrow B-.
Continue for all engine codes
  N13-0376
–  Lock camshaft with setting bar -T20038-.
–  Centralize setting bar as follows: Turn camshaft so that one end of setting bar contacts the cylinder head. Using feeler gauge establish the gap at the other end of the setting bar. Place a feeler gauge corresponding to half the gap between setting bar and cylinder head. Turn camshaft until the setting bar contacts the feeler gauge. Place a 2nd feeler gauge, of same thickness, at the other end between setting bar and cylinder head.

–  Hold the injection pump pinion with tool -U-40074-.
–  Loosen tensioner.
–  Remove the vibration dampener/pulley.
–  Remove the lower and central toothed belt guards.
–  Mark toothed belt rotation direction.
–  Remove the toothed belt.
