q   Renew if worn

13 - 20 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°)

q   With three marks round the perimeter of the connecting pipe
1)  On the standard version the pre-silencer and the rear silencer are made up of one single piece. For repairs the pre-silencer and the silencer are supplied separately, with a double clamp, → Item. Cut the connecting pipe perpendicularly at the cutting point -17- with the tool -U-40075- → Fig..

   
Checking installation position of double clamp
–  Position double clamp approx. 5 mm away from mark -A--arrow 1-.
  Note!
Mark -A- is valid for vehicles with manual and automatic gearboxes.

Separating point on exhaust pipe
–  Separate exhaust pipe at right angles at separating point -arrow 2-.
–  When installing fit repair type double clamp -4- at side markings-arrows 1 and 3-.
   Tightening torque 40 Nm
