Servicing fuel filter > < Removing and installing parts of fuel supply system

1 - Sealing cap
2 - Fastening ring
3 - Tank cap unit
q   Removing and installing → Bodywork assembly work; Rep. Gr.55
4 - Deaeration hose
5 - Gravity/safety valve
q   For removal, unlock the safety tab and expulse the filler hole valve upward
q   Check the continuity of flow from valves
   Perpendicular valve: open
   Valve inclined 90o: closed
6 - Connection to earth
7 - 4 Nm
8 - Filler hole unit
q   With non-return valve
9 - Dust bellows
q   After installing filler unit, fit it above the fuel tank filler hole
10 - Fuel tank
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Press the antithermal plate fastening washer firmly over the bolt located on the vehicle floor
11 - 25 Nm
12 - Ring gasket
q   Renew in case of fault
q   Wet with fuel before installing
13 - Fuel gauge transmitter
q   Check the installation position of the fuel tank → Fig.
14 - Cover nut
q   Remove and fit with -U-40055-
15 - Supply hoses
q   To the fuel filter → Item
q   Clipped to the fuel tank
q   Check for firm fitting
q   Black
q   To disconnect the flange the unlocking keys on the connector element must be pressed
16 - Return hoses
q   From the fuel filter → Item
q   On the connector -R-
q   Blue or blue mark
q   Clipped on the fuel tank
q   Check for firm fitting
q   To disconnect the flange the unlocking keys on the connector element must be pressed
17 - Deaeration valve
q   To remove press lightly inward on the clip -arrow- and extract the valve
q   Check → Fig.
18 - O-ring
q   Renew if worn
19 - Dust bellows
q   For filler hole

   
Installation position of fuel gauge sender
Marking on sender must align with the marking on fuel tank -arrows-.
  Note!
After installing fuel gauge sender ensure that the supply pipe -2- and return pipe -1- (identification R) are securely clipped onto fuel tank.

Checking vent valve
Lever in rest position: Closed.
Lever pushed in direction of arrow: Open.
  Note!
Before installing vent valve remove fuel tank sealing cover.
