Vehicles without air conditioning/heating system compressor > < Ribbed belt Separating and fitting

Removing
–  Remove the insulation tray → Rep. Gr.50.
–  Remove air filter → Fig..
–  Mark direction of rotation of ribbed belt with chalk or felt-tip pen.
   
–  Turn tensioning device in direction of -arrow-, using a spanner.
–  Remove ribbed belt.
Fitting
  Note
t  Ensure, before installing ribbed belt, that the ancillaries (alternator, air conditioner compressor) are secured tightly.
t  When fitting the ribbed belt check belt rotation direction and that the belt is seated correctly in the belt pulleys.
Install in reverse order but note following:
–  First place ribbed belt on crankshaft pulley. Lastly, fit belt onto the tensioning roller.
–  Check correct fitting of the Ribbed belt.
–  Start engine and check how belt is running.
