Checking conditions
l  Remote control -V.A.G 1348/3A-, connected.
Test sequence

–  Pull off supply hose -1- from fuel filter, press buttons on hose couplings to do this.
  WARNING
Fuel supply hoses are under pressure. Before removing fuel hose connections, wrap a cloth around the connection. Then release pressure by carefully removing the hose.
–  Connect the pressure gauge -V.A.G 1318- to the fuel filter using adaptor -V.A.G 1318/17-
–  Connect adaptor -V.A.G 1318/11- and -V.A.G 1318/1- to the pressure gauge and place the end of the pressure regulator in a measuring container.

–  Close pressure gauge cut-off tap (transverse levesr -B-).
–  Operate remote control at short intervals until a pressure of 3 bar has built up.
–  If pressure builds up too high, lower excess pressure by carefully opening the cut-off tap.
  WARNING
Danger of spray when opening the cut-off tap; hold container in front of the pressure gauge open connection.
–  Observe pressure drop on gauge. After 10 minutes the pressure must not drop below 2.5 bar.
If the pressure drops further:
–  Check pipe connections for leaks.
If no leaks are found:
–  Replace fuel supply unit → Chapter.
