Assembling > < Fuel tank: Removing and installing
Removing
Removing
–  Follow safety regulations before beginning assembly work → Chapter.
–  With the ignition off, disconnect the battery earth strap.
–  Empty the fuel tank and clean around the filler hole.
–  Fold the back seat forward.
–  Remove the cover from the fuel supply unit.
Once the cover is removed:
   
–  Separate the fuel return hose from the flange -1- and the connector -2-.
–  Separate the fuel supply hose -3- and the deaeration hose -4-.
  Note!
To do so, press the connection keys on the hoses.

–  Remove the union arrester from the bodywork -1-.
–  Remove all the fasteners of the rear of the exhaust system from the bodywork -2-. Then, lower the exhaust system a little and hang from the bodywork with a wire.
–  Remove the right rear wheel.
–  Remove the right rear mudguard: → Bodywork-assembly work; Rep. Gr.66
–  Remove the fuel tank filler cap.
–  Remove the filler hole from the bodywork.
–  Remove the fastening straps which fix the fuel tank using the engine and gearbox lifting platform -SAT 1001-.

–  Remove the fuel filler hole from its fastening to the fuel tank. To do so, the dust boot and fuel hoses must be removed.
  Note!
When removing the fuel filler hole, make sure not to damage the internal seals inside the tank.
–  Remove the fuel tank with the antithermal plate.
