Check the jet form and tightness
  Caution
The fuel system is under pressure. Before opening the system, place a cloth around the point of the connection. Next, eliminate the pressure carefully separating the connection.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Digital potentiometer -V.A.G 1630-
t  Auxilary measuring set -V.A.G 1594-
Testing process
–  Remove the complete fuel distributor with the injectors.

–  Remove the 4-pole connector -1- from the coolant temperature transmitter -G62--2-.
–  Remove the ignition transformer connector.
–  Adjust the digital potentiometer -V.A.G 1630-“side A” to 15 Ω and connect it to the connector removed, contacts “1+3” using auxiliary cables -V.A.G 1594-.
–  Remove the connectors of the butterfly valve control unit, the oil pressure switch and the intake manifold pressure transmitter, and separate the bundle of cables from the intake manifold and from the coolant thermostat housing.

–  Place a small receptacle under the injector to be tested and remove the connectors of the other injectors.
–  Operate the starter motor (the help of a second person is required). The injectors should emit pulsing jets according to the ignition order.
–  Turn off the ignition and check the tightness of the injectors. No more than 2 drops/min should come out.
  Note!
On installing the injectors, make sure that the O-rings are not damaged.
