Components of the injection system: removing and installing
1 - Suction of hot air
q   Towards the hot air pick-up plate in the exhaust manifold
2 - Towards the oil separator
3 - Air filter
q   Remove → Fig.
q   Disassembly and assembly → Chapter
4 - Bolt
  Note!
t  A mechanical screwdriver can be used for loosening or tightening the bolts in the following conditions:
t  Maximum screwdriver revolutions: 200 rpm
t  Maximum tightening torque of 3 Nm
5 - Connector
q   4 poles
q   For Intake manifold pressure transmitter -G71- with intake air temperature transmitter -G42-
6 - Connector
q   8 poles
q   For butterfly valve control unit -J338-
7 - Cable guide
q   Situted on the fuel distributor, fixed with clips
8 - 10 Nm
9 - Fuel distributor with injectors
q   Disassembly and assembly → Chapter
10 - Earth cable
q   For butterfly valve control unit
11 - Vacuum pipe
12 - Towards the brake servo
13 - Return hose
q   Fix the strip clamps on to the fuel distributor
q   Blue or blue mark
14 - 20 ± 1 Nm
q   Tighten the bolts starting with the inside ones and then the outside ones
q   Respect the tightening torque strictly, otherwise the bushings of the intake manifold will enter into the cylinder head.
15 - Intake manifold
q   Disassembly and assembly → Chapter
16 - O-ring
q   Renew
17 - Thermostat housing
18 - O-ring
q   Renew if deteriorated
19 - Coolant temperature transmitter -G62-
q   With transmitter to indicate coolant temperature -G2-
q   Identification: yellow ring
q   Before removing it, reduce the cooling system pressure when necessary
20 - Connector
21 - Staple
22 - Lambda probe -G39-, 55 Nm
q   Location: in the front exhaust pipe
q   Grease only the thread with “G5”. “G5” should not reach the grooves of the probe body.
23 - 4-pole connector
q   For lambda probe and lambda probe heating
q   Fixed on the rear support of the engine, at the right looking in the direction of travel
24 - Towards the fuel tank
25 - Securing plate
26 - Connector
q   Remove or plug in the connector with the ignition turned off
27 - 10 Nm
28 - Engine control unit
q   Control unit for injection and ignition system 1AV -J382-
q   For injection system, lambda control, electrovalve for activated carbon tank, pinking control, speed limitation, ignition, as well as self-diagnosis
q   Location: in the water box, at the left
q   Renew → Chapter
29 - Supply hose
q   Fix the strip clamps on to the fuel distributor
q   Black or white mark
30 - Towards electrovalve 1 for activated carbon tank -N80-
q   Activated carbon tank system → Item
