To prevent injuries to persons and/or damage to the fuel injection and ignition system, the following must be noted: |
t
Do not touch or remove the ignition cables with the engine running or idling.
t
Always switch off the ignition before disconnecting or reconnecting injection or ignition system wiring or tester cables.
t
If the engine is to be turned at starter speed, without starting, eg: for compression pressure testing, the ignition coil and injector connectors must be removed.
t
Certain tests may lead to a fault being detected by the control unit and stored. Therefore, the fault memory must be interrogated and deleted if necessary after all tests and repairs have been completed. If the fault memory has been deleted, you must generate the readiness code again. Interrogate fault memory → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
t
Always switch off the ignition before cleaning the engine.
