–
| Connect one contact of the injector to be tested to earth, using the aux. cables of the measuring tool set -VAG 1594C-. |
–
| Connect to battery positive the second injector contact with auxiliary cable to remote control -VAG 1348/3A- with the cable -VAG 1348/3-2-. |
–
| Bridge contacts 1 + 65 of the tester box, using the cables of the measuring tool set -VAG 1594C-. |
Note After switching on the ignition, the fuel pump will be working continuously despite the engine being stationary, for the following reason: After switching on the ignition, the fuel pump relay receives positive voltage from the junction box. It receives negative supply through the wiring bridge of the tester box. |
–
| Activate remote control -VAG 1348/3A- for 30 seconds. |
–
| Repeat check on other injectors. Use new measuring containers for these. |
–
| After activating the injectors, place the measuring containers on a flat base and compare injected quantities. |
Specification per injector: 85 ... 105 ml. |
If the measured value for one or more of the injectors is outside the tolerance range, switch off the ignition and replace the defective injector. |
If the measured values for all the injectors are outside the tolerance range, check the fuel system pressure → Chapter. |
Note When checking the injection quantity, also check the spray pattern. The spray must be equal for all the injectors. |
–
| Fit the injectors and fuel rail, observing the following: |
t
| Renewing the front O-rings in all open connections, ensuring that the plastic cap is never removed from the injector head. The O-ring must be pulled off over the plastic cap). |
t
| The O-rings must be lubricated with a little engine oil. |
t
| Insert injectors vertically and in the correct position into the fuel rail and secure with retaining clips. |
t
| Fit fuel rail with secured injectors onto intake manifold and press in evenly. |
