Radiator removal and installation
   
Radiator removal and installation
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  tester for anti-freeze protection -T10007-
t  pliers for spring-type clips -T20029-
t  drip tray -V.A.G 1306-
t  torque wrench -SAT 8010-

Removal
–  Remove central as well as left and right insulation trays → General Body Repairs, exterior; Rep. Gr.50.
–  Pull connectors off thermo-switch and radiator fan.
–  Remove hoses from radiator and empty coolant → Chapter.
–  Removing front bumper → General body repairs-assembly work; Rep. Gr.63.
–  Bring lock carrier into service position → General body repairs-assembly work; Rep. Gr.50.
–  Remove tha air duct and the ventilato(s).
–  Remove bolts of the lock carrier that secure the radiator and remove radiator.
Vehicles with air conditioning:
–  Observe additional information and removal work → Chapter.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When doing this note the following:
–  Filling with new coolant → Chapter.
–  Remove centre insulation tray → General body repairs-assembly work; Rep. Gr.50.
