1 - of the diesel particle filter
2 - Trim cap, 40 Nm
3 - Retaining ring
q   Replace if damaged
4 - 25 Nm
5 - Separating point
q   Marked by impressions on exhaust pipe.
q   As standard, exhaust pipe and silencer are installed as a single component. For repairs, exhaust pipe and silencer are supplied with a clamp separately
q   Cut the connecting pipe vertically in the cutting area -arrow A- using the chain-type pipe cutter -VAS 6254- or the body saw -VAG 1523B- (Wear protective goggles) → Chapter
q   When fitting, position the repair double clamp on the markings -arrows B- on the side.
q   Evenly tighten threaded connections of clamping sleeve (repair double clamp), tightening torque: M 8 = 25 Nm, M10 = 40 Nm
q   Align exhaust system when it is cold so it is free of stress before tightening → Chapter
6 - Silencers
7 - Retaining ring
q   Replace if damaged
8 - 25 Nm
