»Carry out the following work sequence«
–  Remove high-pressure fuel line -2- between high-pressure pump and high-pressure accumulator.
  A23-10432
–  Connect cleaned, custom-made adapter to high-pressure connection on high-pressure pump, tighten to 20 Nm.
–  Connect hand-operated vacuum pump -VAS 6213- to custom-made adapter.
–  Using hand-operated vacuum pump -VAS 6213- apply pressure of min 1 bar.
If high-pressure pump is OK, pressure remains constant for 30 s.
If the high-pressure pump is defective, the pressure drops within 2 ... 3 seconds back to 0 bar.
Repeat check is necessary, observe pressure loss at hand-operated vacuum pump -VAS 6213-.
–  Replace high-pressure pump → Chapter.
