Removing and installing air mass meterG70
Removing and installing air mass meter -G70-
t  Removing → Anchor
t  Fitting → Anchor
   
Removing
–  Loosen the engine cover at the locations -arrows- and remove.

–  Pull connector off air mass meter -G70--1-.
–  Open the hose clamp -2- and remove the hose to the exhaust gas turbocharger and lay to the side.
  Note
Ignore other items.

–  Unscrew the two bolts -arrow- and remove theair mass gauge -G70- from the guide in the air filter housing by carefully pulling on it.
Fitting
For the air mass gauge -G70- to work properly, respect the instructions and work procedures which are described below.
  Note
t  If the air filter element is very dirty or wet, dirt or water could reach the air mass meter -G70- and affect the air mass value. This would lead to loss of power, since a smaller injection quantity is calculated.
t  Always use a genuine spare part air filter element.
t  Use a silicone-free lubricant when installing the air hose.
t  Secure all hose connections with standard clamps → Parts catalogue.
–  Check for salt residue, dirt and leaves in air mass meter and air intake hose (engine intake side).
–  Check for contamination of intake duct as far as air filter element. If contamination is found, please clear the air filter housing (upper and lower part) of salt residue, dirt and leaves (if necessary wash out or use a vacuum cleaner). Removing and installing air filter → Chapter
Further installation is carried out in the reverse order.
