  A10-0900
Before removing the Poly-V belt, mark the direction of rotation using chalk or a marker. If the belt runs in the opposite direction when it is refitted, this can cause breakage.
–  Release tensions on poly V belt by turning tensioning element in direction indicated by -Arrow-.
–  Take off poly V-belt.
  A13-0083
–  Unscrews the screws -arrows- and the tension element of the V-ribbed belt.

Installing
Reassembly is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
  Note
t  After removing, all threaded openings in the cylinder block must be cleaned from sealant agent residues. Otherwise there would be a danger of the bolts seizing when screwed in and shearing off on renewed removal.
t  A male thread tap can be used for this.
–  Insert bolts securing bracket for ancillaries with locking fluid; Locking fluid → Parts catalogue.
–  Tighten the bolts in the sequence -1 … 6-.
–  To facilitate positioning of power steering pump, drive back bush for securing bolt slightly.
–  Install power steering pump → Running gear, front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive; Rep. gr.48.
–  Install air conditioner compressor → Air conditioning system; Rep. gr.87
–  Remove the alternator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
