| Remove glow plug from relevant cylinder using U/J extension and 10 mm socket -3220- → Chapter. |

| Screw in adapter -V.A.G 1763/12- in place of glow plug. |
| –
| Check compression using compression tester -V.A.G 1763-. |

| Turn over engine until tester shows no further pressure increase. |
| Max. deviation allowed between both cylinders: 5 bar. |
| –
| Install glow plug using U/J extension and socket, 10 mm -3220- → Chapter. |
Note | Faults will have been stored because the connectors for injectors have been disconnected. Therefore, read fault memory and clear if necessary. |

| Read fault memory of engine control unit → Chapter. |
