Oil cooler: Removing and installing. t  Removing → Anchor. t  Installing → Anchor. Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Hose clamp -3094-, see equivalent → Anchor

t  Base -VAS 6499-, see equivalent → Anchor Removing

–  Remove the engine cover upwards -arrows-.

–  Fit the centre noise insulation -fasteners 1 ... 3-.

–  Loosen the clamp -2-, lift the clip -1- and remove the connecting hose on the »cold side« of the supercharger. –  Unscrew securing bolts -arrows- from charge air pipe and disconnect connector -1- from charge air pressure sender -G31-.

–  Open the clamp -2- and lay the coolant hose -3- free and remove the supercharger air hose.

–  Remove securing bolt -arrow- and push coolant circulation pump 2 -V178- aside.   WARNING Hot steam/hot coolant can escape - risk of scalding. The cooling system is under pressure when the engine is hot. Cover filler cap on expansion tank with a cloth and open carefully to dissipate pressure. –  Open filler cap on expansion tank.   Note Place a drip tray -VAS 6208- underneath to catch the coolant running out..

–  Disconnect the coolant hoses with the hose clamps -3094-, as shown in the figure. –  Remove the coolant hoses -1-. –  Unscrew the screw plug -2- and remove the oil radiator -3- from the engine. Installing Install in reverse order. Note the following: –  Fill up cooling system (or change coolant if the oil cooler has been renewed) → Chapter. –  Fill up with engine oil and check the oil level .   Note t  Hose unions and air intake pipes/hoses must be free of oil and grease when installing. t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue. Specified torques
