Tensioner for poly-V belt: Removing and installing t  Removing → Anchor t  Installing → Anchor Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Adjustment tool -T40098-, please see Correspondence → Anchor

Removing –  Disconnect the engine cover-arrow-.

–  Loosen quick-type locks -1 and 2-, and remove front noise insulation. –  Remove the front bumper trim → Rep. gr.63. –  Move lock carrier to service position → Rep. gr.50.

–  Open clips -arrows- and remove toothed belt cover.

–  Pivot the tensioner in -Direction of arrow-, remove the poly-V belt from the generator pulley, match the openings -Arrow- and stop the tensioner with the locking tool -T40098-.   Caution If the poly V-belt runs in the opposite direction when it is refitted, this can cause breakage. Before removing, mark direction of operation of poly V-belt with chalk or felt-tipped pen in preparation for re-installation. –  Swivel tensioner in direction of -arrow-, detach poly V-belt from alternator pulley and lock tensioner using locking tool -T40098-. –  Remove the ribbed belt.

–  Remove the air intake hose -Arrows-.

–  Unscrew the bolt -1-, remove the tensioner -2- for poly-V belt. Installing Installation is carried out in reverse order. The following should be taken into account:   Note t  The brackets for the hoses and the supercharger air system tubes must be free from oil and grease for fitting. Do NOT use lubricant. t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Spare parts catalogue. t  To ensure that the charge air hoses can be connected securely, you must spray the screws on used screw-type clips with rust remover prior to installation. –  Check tensioner for correct seating in bracket for ancillaries before securing. Tightening torques
