Part I
1 - Toothed belt
q   Before removing, mark direction of rotation with chalk or felt-tipped marker pen.
q   Check for wear.
q   Removing → Chapter.
q   Fitting (adjusting the valve timing) → Anchor
2 - Guide roller
3 - 20 Nm
4 - Tensioning roller
5 - 20 Nm + further 1/8 (45°)
6 - 20 Nm
7 - Guide roller
8 - 25 Nm
9 - Cogwheel for timing belt
10 - 100 Nm
q   Loosen and tighten with retention tool -T10051-
11 - Camshaft hub
q   Use counter-hold tool -T10051- to loosen and tighten.
q   To remove, use puller -T10052-.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
12 - Cap
13 - Rear toothed belt guard
14 - 10 Nm
q   Renew
15 - Hub for the high pressure pump
q   Use counter-hold tool -T10051- to loosen and tighten.
q   To remove, use puller -T40064-.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
16 - 95 Nm
17 - Gear wheel of the high-pressure pump
18 - 20 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn) further
q   Renew
19 - Guide roller
20 - 50 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn) further
q   Renew
21 - O-ring
q   Renew
22 - Coolant pump
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
23 - 15 Nm
24 - Crankshaft gear
q   Contact surface between timing belt sprocket and crankshaft must be free of oil.
q   Fitting possible in one position only.
25 - 120 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn) further
q   Renew
q   Loosen and tighten with retention tool -3415-
q   Do not additionally oil or grease the threads and shoulder.
q   Turning further can be done in several stages.
