  N13-0401
–  Remove bolts -1 ... 10-.
–  Remove sealing flange. If necessary, loosen by giving light taps with a rubber hammer.
–  Drive out seal with flange removed.
Installing .
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removing, when doing this note the following.
  Note
Lie a cloth over the open part of the oil sump.
–  Remove sealant residue on cylinder block and on oil sump carefully.
  WARNING
Wear eye protection.

–  Remove sealant residue on sealing flange using rotating plastic brush or similar.
–  Clean sealing surfaces; they must be free of oil and grease.
  A17-0030
–  Cut off tube nozzle at upper marking (nozzle Ø: approx. 3 mm).
  A17-0081
–  Apply a thin length of silicon sealant to each one of the edges between the engine block and the oil sump -arrows-..
  A13-0518
–  Apply the silicone sealant bead -arrow- to the clean sealing surface of the sealing flange, see figure.
l  Thickness of sealant bead -arrows-: 2…3 mm.
  Note
Sealant bead must not be wider than 3 mm, otherwise excess sealant could ingress into sump and clog strainer in oil intake pipe.
  A17-0028
–  Coat the lower sealing surface at the sealing flange lightly with silicone sealant -striped area-.
  Note
The sealing flange should be fitted within 5 minutes following the application of the silicon sealing paste.
–  Slide the sealing flange carefully on the engine block pins.

l  Do not lubricate the geared teeth of the crankshaft.
  A13-10611
–  Immobilise the sprocket using the retention tool -3415-
–  Tighten the new screw to 120 Nm + 1/4 turns (90°) using a spanner. Turning further can be done in several stages.
Perform further installation in reverse order, paying attention to the following:
–  Install notched belt (adjusting valve timing) → Anchor.
–  Install vibration damper → Chapter.
