Sealing flange (gearbox side) and dual-mass flywheel: component overview
1 - 60 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn) further
q   Renew
2 - Dual-mass flywheel
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
q   Assembly only possible in one position due to offset holes
3 - Sender wheel
q   For engine speed sender -G28-
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
4 - Engine speed sender -G28-
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
5 - 5 Nm
6 - Locking pin
q   Qty. 2.
7 - Intermediate plate
q   Must seat on dowel pins.
q   Do not damage or bend when assembling.
q   Engaging on sealing flange → Fig.
8 - Sealing flange (gearbox end)
q   with shaft seal
q   Renewing → Chapter.
9 - 15 Nm

   
Installing intermediate plate
–  Attach intermediate plate to sealing flange -arrow at top- and push onto alignment pins -arrows at bottom-.

Sealing flange on gearbox side - Prescribed torque and tightening sequence

–  Renew sealing flange bolts (gearbox end).
–  Tighten bolts -1 … 6- in 2 stages as follows:
1.  Screw in by hand until they make contact.
2.  Tighten in stages and in diagonal sequence; final torque 15 Nm.

Disregard -items 7 and 8-.
