Removing and installing fuel filter
Removing and installing fuel filter

Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
   
t  Collecting tray -VAS 6208-, see equivalent → Anchor
Removing
–  Observe safety precautions → Chapter
  W00-10228
–  Observe rules for cleanliness → Chapter.
–  Unscrew the nut -2-.
  A20-10679
–  First move upper mount -1- in direction of -arrow A- and in direction of -arrow B-.
–  Place the drip tray -VAS 6208- under the fuel filter.
–  Remove fuel lines -1 and 3- from fuel filter.
–  Remove fuel filter -2-.
  WARNING
The hot fuel may cause burns.
t  In extreme cases, the temperatures of the fuel lines or the fuel itself can reach up to 100° C. Let the fuel cool down before opening the line connection, or else there is a risk of serious injuries.
t  Wear protection gloves.
t  Wear eye protection.
Injury risk! Fuel is subjected to high pressure!
To reduce the pressure in the fuel system, wrap a clean cloth around the connection and carefully loosen the connection.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following:
l  Flow direction is marked with arrows on filter housing.
  Note
Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Spare parts catalogue.
  Caution
Running when dry causes irreparable damage to high-pressure pump.
If the fuel filter, the fuel lines or the supplementary fuel pump -V393- are replaced, it is important to bleed the fuel system before the engine is started for the first time.
l  Tightening torque → Chapter
–  Bleeding fuel system → Chapter.
