  Note
Before removing the Poly-V belt, mark the direction of rotation using chalk or a marker. If the belt runs in the opposite direction when it is refitted, this can cause breakage When fitting the belt, ensure that it is correctly seated on the pulleys.
   
1 - 25 Nm
2 - Engine lifting eye
3 - Poly V-belt tensioning element
q   Swivel with open-ended spanner to slacken poly V-belt.
q   Arrest the clamping device by using the holding tool -T40098-.
4 - Poly-V belt
q   Do not bend
q   Check for wear
q   Routing of poly V-belt → Chapter
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
5 - 25 Nm
6 - Bracket for ancillary mechanical units
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
7 - 40 Nm
q   Fit with locking fluid; locking fluid → Parts catalogue
8 - Alternator
q   Removing and fitting → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27
9 - 20 Nm
10 - 40 Nm
11 - 20 Nm
12 - Pump for steering drive
q   Remove and fit → Running gear, axles, steering; Rep. gr.48.
13 - 40 Nm
14 - Air conditioning compressor
q   On installation, pay attention to dowel sleeves in bolt holes
15 - 25 Nm
16 - Crankshaft pulley:
q   Can only be fitted in one position
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
17 - Collared bolts - 10 Nm +1/4 turn further (90º)
q   Replacement → Parts catalogue
18 - Guide roller
q   Secured to bracket for ancillaries
19 - Special bolt - 25 Nm
q   For idler roller
q   Replacement → Parts catalogue
