Manual gearbox
   
1 - 15 Nm
2 - Seal
q   replace → Chapter
q   Do not use oil
3 - Sealing flange on the pulley side:
q   Must sit on dowel sleeves
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
q   For removing and installing, detach the oil sump → Chapter
4 - cylinder block
q   Removing and installing crankshaft → Chapter.
q   Piston and rod: disassembly and assembly → Chapter
5 - 60 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn)
q   Replace
6 - Dual mass flywheel or drive plate
q   Removing and installing dual-mass flywheel → Chapter.
q   Drive plate: removing and installing → Chapter
q   Assembly is possible only in one position, as the holes are offset
7 - Intermediate plate
q   Must sit on dowel sleeves
q   Do not damage or bend when assembling.
q   Is fitted onto sealing flange → Fig.
8 - 15 Nm
9 - Sealing flange on flywheel side
q   Can be replaced complete with oil seal.
q   Use the provided guide sleeve for installation.
q   For removing and installing, detach the oil sump → Chapter
q   Do not grease or oil the seal lip of the seal
q   Before fitting, clean the remains of oil on the crankshaft journal using a clean cloth.
q   The guide sleeve should only be removed after fixing the sealing flange on the crankshaft journal

Automatic
   
1 - Bolt.
q   Replace
q   Tighten to 60 Nm turn a further 90°
2 - Dual-mass flywheel
q   Removing and installing dual-mass flywheel → Chapter.
q   Assembly is possible only in one position, as the holes are offset
3 - Bolt.
q   Tightening torque and sequence → Anchor
4 - Intermediate plate
q   Must seat on dowel pins.
q   Do not damage or bend
q   Is fitted onto sealing flange → Fig.
5 - cylinder block
6 - Locking pin
7 - Sealing flange - gearbox side
q   With shaft seal
q   Can only be replaced as one unit
q   Do not grease or oil the seal lip of the seal
q   To fit, use the guide sleeve provided
q   Do not remove guide sleeve until sealing flange has been slipped onto crankshaft journal

   
Sealing flange on the gearbox side - tightening torque and sequence
–  Tighten sealing flange bolts on the gearbox side in 3 stages as follows:
1 - Screw in bolts -1... 8 until they make contact.
2 - Tighten the bolts -1 … 6 to 15 Nm crosswise in several stages.
3 - Tighten bolts -7 to 8 to 15 Nm.

Installing intermediate plate
–  Fit intermediate plate on sealing flange and push onto dowel sleeves -arrows-.
