Removing and installing intake manifold with fuel rail t  Removing → Anchor. t  Installing → Anchor. Removing

–  Remove the engine cover from the retaining bolts. Do this by pulling on both sides in the direction of the -arrows-. –  Unplug all electrical connectors as necessary.   Caution The fuel pressure must be reduced prior to opening any components in the high-pressure section of the fuel system. → Chapter

–  Disconnect fuel line -arrow- (catch escaping fuel and seal off open pipes immediately).

–  Separate the hose connections -arrows- from the cylinder head cover. –  Unscrew the bolts -1 ... 2- from the coolant pipe.

–  Disconnect vacuum hose going to brake servo at bulkhead -2-. –  Disconnect ACF hose -3-.   Note Ignore position -1-.

–  Unscrew bolts from coolant line -1- and coolant pipe -2-.

–  Open the two fuel lines on the high pressure pump. –  Release hose clips and disconnect intake hose at throttle valve module -J338- and intake manifold.

–  Disconnect connection -1- from the fuel pressure sender -G247-. –  Pull out oil dipstick and unscrew bolt -2- at dipstick guide tube.

–  Loosen bolt from coolant line -1-.

–  Unscrew the fastening nut -arrow- of the suction socket. If necessary, detach the throttle valve control unit -J338-.

–  Disconnect oil dipstick guide at joint -2- and unscrew bolt -1- on intake manifold support. –  Unscrew all bolts from intake manifold. –  Carefully pull intake manifold and fuel rail off cylinder head. Removal and installation of the fuel distributor → Chapter. Installing –  Installation is carried out in reverse order.
