Part I Belt system - Assembly overview
1 - 20 Nm
2 - Pulley
q   For coolant pump
q   To loosen and tighten, use the water pump wrench -V.A.G 1590-
3 - 20 Nm +1/4 turn further (90º)
4 - 40 Nm
5 - Washer
6 - Idler wheel
7 - Washer
8 - Spacing sleeve
9 - Alternator
10 - 25 Nm
11 - Spacing sleeve
12 - Tensioning element
13 - Pulley
q   For crankshaft
q   The contact surfaces must be free of oil and grease.
14 - Securing bolt
q   Respect the tightening procedure → Chapter
q   Replace
q   The contact surface of the fastening bolt must be free of oil and grease
q   Apply oil before fitting it (thread)
q   Secure the pulley with the counterhold -3415- to prevent it from turning
q   Tightening can be done in several stages
q   The torque angle can be measured with a Hazet 6690 torque or equivalent
