| Memorise the position of the tension roller needle -1-. Press down hard on the notched belt with the thumb-arrow-. The needle must move. |

| Stop pressing the notched belt. |
| –
| Turn the crankshaft two complete turns in the direction of rotation of the engine. |
| –
| Check the position of the needle. The needle should have returned to its original position. |
| If the indicator arm does not return to the original position: |
| –
| Replace the tension roller. |
| If both tension rollers are correct: |
| –
| Re-install the lower timing belt guard. |
| –
| Install crankshaft pulley. Note the following: |
| t
| Use a new attachment bolt for the pulley and the timing belt wheel. |
| t
| When fitting the pulley check the fixing with respect to the notched belt wheel. |
| t
| Tightening method for the new oiled bolt: 90 Nm + retighten 1/4 turn (90°). |
Note | When fitting the Poly-V belt, make sure that it is correctly seated on the pulleys. |

| Install top notched belt guard. |
