t  Vacuum tester -V.A.G 1368-
  W00-0567
t  Hand vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390-
Test procedure
  W00-0515
–  Pull breather hose -3- off activated charcoal filter system solenoid valve 1 -N80--1-.
–  Connect hand vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390-“connection A” to activated charcoal filter system solenoid valve 1 -N80--1-.
–  Connect hand vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390- to vacuum tester -V.A.G 1368-“connection B”.
–  Set vacuum tester -V.A.G 1368- to -A/B- position.
–  Initiate final control diagnosis and activate activated charcoal filter system solenoid valve 1 -N80-, → Rep. Gr.01.
–  Operate hand vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390- several times. Vacuum must not build up.
If vacuum builds up:
–  Check breather hose -4- on activated charcoal canister for soiling and clean if necessary.
If vacuum does not build up:
  N20-0429
–  Seal breather hose -arrow- from activated charcoal canister.
–  Initiate final control diagnosis again, and activate activated charcoal filter system solenoid valve 1 -N80-, → Rep. Gr.01.
–  Operate hand vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390- several times. A vacuum must build up.
If vacuum does not build up:
–  Check pressure retention valve → Fig..

–  Check breather hose -2- from fuel tank pressure retention valve for leaks.
