–
| Remove 1.4 bar oil pressure switch -F1--A- and screw into tester. |
–
| Screw oil pressure tester -V.A.G 1342- into oil filter bracket in place of oil pressure switch -F1-. |
–
| Connect brown wire of tester to earth (-). |
–
| Connect voltage tester -V.A.G 1527B- to battery positive (+) and 0.25 bar oil pressure switch -F22- using cables from auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594 A- or auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594C--B-. The LED must light up. |
–
| Start engine and increase revolutions slowly. At 0.15...0.35 bar, the LED must extinguish; otherwise renew 0.25 bar oil pressure switch -F22- → Item. |
–
| Connect voltage tester -V.A.G 1527B- to 1.4 bar oil pressure switch -F1--A-. At 1.2...1.6 bar the LED must light up; otherwise renew oil pressure switch → Item. |
–
| Check oil pressure at different revolutions: 2000 rpm: at least 2.0 bar, above 2000 rpm: max. 7.0 bar. |
If the specifications are not attained: |
–
| Rectify mechanical damage, e.g. bearing damage. |
–
| Renew oil filter with pressure relief valve → Item or renew oil pump → Item. |
At higher engine speeds, the oil pressure must not exceed 7.0 bar. |
If the specification is exceeded: |
–
| Check the oil passages. |
–
| If necessary, renew oil filter bracket with pressure relief valve → Item. |
