Fuel delivery unit: Removing and installing t  Removing → Anchor t  Fitting → Anchor Check the tool and equipment equivalence table according to the applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Turning tool -T10202-, see equivalent → Anchor

t  Tightening torque -VAG 1332-, see equivalent → Anchor Removing Observe safety precautions → Chapter. Observe rules for cleanliness → Chapter. l  To remove the fuel supply unit, the tank should be at a maximum of 3/4 of full capacity. Drain the tank if necessary.

–  Remove the rear seat bench → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.72. –  Release retainers -arrows- at cover for sealing flange.

–  Release carefully electrical connection -arrow- on sealing flange and take off.   WARNING t  Fuel system is under pressure! Before opening the system place a cloth around the connection. Then release pressure by carefully loosening the connection. t  For those vehicles fitted with an injector pump, the temperature of the fuel and the fuel lines may reach up to 100 ºC in extreme cases. Before opening the duct connections, allow the fuel to cool otherwise there is a risk of severe burns. t  When carrying out work on the fuel system, always wear gloves and protective glasses.

–  Separate fuel supply line -1- and fuel return line -2- by pressing release tabs.   WARNING To remove the fuel delivery unit, the reservoir of this must be filled to 3/4 maximum.

–  Remove the sealing ring using the spanner -T10202-. –  Pull fuel delivery unit and seal out of the opening in the fuel tank. Installing Fit in reverse order from removal, remembering the following:   Note t  Take care not to bend the fuel gauge sender when fitting fuel delivery unit. t  Check that the fuel hoses sit firmly. t  Do not interchange supply and return hose (return hose blue or blue markings, supply hose black). t  When fitting the fuel pipes, the connections must audibly clip into place. t  Note installation position of fuel delivery unit flange. → Fig. –  Insert seal for sealing flange dry into opening of fuel tank. –  Insert fuel delivery unit in fuel tank.

–  Note the installation position of the sealing flange: l  The tab -2- on the sealing flange must lie between the tongues -1- and -3- on the fuel tank.   Note -Arrow- indicates flow direction.

–  Tighten the sealing ring with the spanner -T10202- to 110 Nm.
