| Start up the engine and make it turn until the radiator fan has switched on once. |

| Increase speed to approx. 2,500/min for 2 minutes. |
| If the hydraulic plungers continue to make a noise, check to see which one/s is/are faulty as follows: |

| Remove protective engine cover and cylinder head cover. |
| –
| Turn the crankshaft clockwise until the plunger cams to be checked are up. |
| –
| Check the play between cams and hydraulic plungers. |
| –
| If play is greater than 0.1 mm, replace the plunger. If play is less than 0.1 mm or if there is no play, proceed with the check as follows: |
