Crankshaft: Removing and installing > < Removing

  Note!
t  Note the use by date of the sealant.
   
t  Sump must be installed within 5 minutes of applying silicone sealing compound.
–  Cut off tube nozzle at forward marking (nozzle approx.:). approx. 3 mm).
  Note!
t  The sealing bead must not be thicker otherwise sealer could enter the sump and block the strainer in the shaft support cover and could drip onto the sealing surface of the crankshaft oilseal.
t  Before applying sealing bead, clean the oil seal with a clean rag.

–  Apply silicone sealing compound, as shown, to clean sealing flange surface.
t  Thickness of sealant bead: 2 ... 3 mm
–  Fit sealing flange immediately and lightly tighten all bolts.
  Note!
Use guide sleeve -T20081B/6- to fit sealing flange with the oil seal already installed.
–  Tighten sealing flange securing bolts using alternate sequence. Tightening torques: 15 Nm

–  Install sump → Chapter.
  Note!
After installing sump the sealant must be allowed to dry for approx. 30 minutes before engine oil is added 30 minutes. After this time has passed, the sump may be filled.
–  Install crankshaft toothed belt sprocket. To do this immobilize the sprocket with counter support -T20018B-. Tightening torques: 120 Nm + 1/4 turn (90 °)
