Carry out the removal operations in the reverse order, taking into account the following:
–  Check the disengagement collar for wear and, if necessary, replace it.
–  Lightly grease with -G 000 100-: the disengagement collar; the guide sleeve for the collar; and the primary shaft spline.
–  Check that the engine/gearbox unit centring bushings are aligned on the engine block and, if necessary, align them.
   
–  Fix the intermediate plate to the sealing flange and fit it in the adjustment sleeves -arrows-. Make sure the intermediate plate is correctly seated on the engine.
–  When installing the engine unit, check that there is sufficient play with the articulated half shafts.

–  When installing the engine supports, ensure that the right rear console clip and the front console groove fit into the metal/rubber bearing guides -arrow-.
–  Align the engine with a shaking movement so that the supports lie without tension.
–  Install the articulated half shafts: → Rep. Gr.40.
–  Install the front exhaust pipe → Chapter.
–  Electrical connections and wiring routing: → Rep. Gr.97.
–  Install the power steering vane pump: → Rep. Gr.48.
Vehicles with air conditioning
–  Install the air conditioning compressor.
Continue for all vehicles
–  Install the Poly-V belt → Chapter.
–  Install the clutch control cable: → Rep. Gr.30.
–  Install the gearbox control: → Rep. Gr.34.
–  Fill with coolant → Chapter.
–  Read fault memories of all control units → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information systemVAS 5051.
–  Carry out test drive and read fault memories of all control units again.
