Fitting
Fitting
  Note!
t  Check the use-by date on the sealant.
t  The oil sump must be fitted within 5 minutes after applying the silicone-based sealant.
t  To facilitate the fitting of the oil sump, you can use threaded M6 pins at two points of the engine block flange.

–  Cut the tube nozzle off at the front mark (nozzle diameter: approx. 3 mm).
–  Apply the silicone-based sealant to the clean contact surface of the oil sump, as shown in the figure. The bead must:
t  be 2...3 mm thick
t  pass by the inner edge of the boltholes -arrows-.
  Note!
The sealant bead must not be thicker; otherwise excess sealant may get into the oil sump and obstruct the oil intake line filter.
–  Fit the oil sump immediately and tighten all the fixing bolts slightly.
–  Tighten all the oil sump bolts to 15 Nm.
  Note!
After fitting the oil sump, let the sealant dry for about approx. 30 minutes. After that time, the oil may be added.
Continue fitting in the reverse order of removal.
