Safety measures for working on the fuel supply system > < Fuel supply system components: Removing and installing

1 - Plug
2 - Tank cover unit
3 - Gravity/safety valve
q   To remove it, free the safety clip and remove the valve from the filler hole, upwards
q   Check the continuity from the flow valve Perpendicular valve: open Valve inclined 90°: closed
4 - O-ring
q   Renew if deteriorated
5 - Earth connection
6 - Connection nut, 75 Nm
q   Remove and install with -U-40055 A-
7 - Flexible hose/return hose
q   Blue or blue mark
q   From the fuel distributor → Chapter
8 - Fuel supply unit
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Check the fuel pump → Chapter
q   Observe the fuel tank fitting position → Fig.
9 - Fuel level indication sender
q   Adjust: → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
10 - O-ring
q   Wet with fuel for fitting
q   Renew in case of fault
11 - Fuel filter
q   Fitting position: the arrow indicates the direction of flow
12 - 3 Nm
13 - Fuel tank
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
14 - 25 Nm
15 - Strip fastener
q   Observe the different lengths
16 - Deaeration tube
q   To the activated carbon tank → Item
17 - Feed hoses
q   Black
q   To the fuel distributor → Chapter
18 - Spacer bushing
19 - 12 Nm
20 - Deaeration valve
q   Test → Fig.
q   For removal, lightly press the clips inward and withdraw the valve

   
Fuel supply unit clamp's fitting position
The marks on the clamp and the fuel tank should meet.
  N20-0243
Test the deaeration valve
Lever in rest position: closed
Lever pressed in direction of arrow: open
  Note!
Before fitting the deaeration valve, remove the plug from the fuel tank.
