Oil pump: Removing and installing
Oil pump: Removing and installing
t  Remove oil pump → Anchor.
t  Install oil pump → Anchor.
   
Removing .
–  Remove sump → Chapter.
–  When the oil pump is replaced, unscrew the bolt -4- and remove the oil supply line -3-.
–  Unscrew the bolts -arrows-, and remove the baffle plate -2-.
–  Hang out and remove the oil pump -1- from the toothed belt.

Fitting .
l  Tightening torques → Chapter
Installation is carried out in reverse order, noting the following:

Renew O-ring.
–  If there are no dowel sleeves -arrows- in the oil pump casing for centring the oil pump, these dowel sleeves must be mounted.
–  Check smooth operation of the oil pump. Turn the gear wheel with one finger for this purpose.
  Note
The oil pump must be replaced if it is difficult to turn.
–  Check the toothed belt for the oil pump.
  Note
t  If the toothed belt is damaged, it must be replaced.
t  The toothed belt may hang itself out after continuous operation. This is not a malfunction.
–  Attach the oil pump with the gear wheel into the toothed belt and screw together using the baffle plate.
–  Install sump → Chapter.
–  Replenish engine oil and check oil level → Chapter.
