Operation process
Proceed as follows:
–  Secure dial gauge -VAS 6079- with universal dial gauge bracket -VW 387- to cylinder block as shown in illustration.
–  Fit the gauge to the crankshaft.
–  Press crankshaft against dial gauge by hand and set gauge to „0“.
–  Push crankshaft away from dial gauge and read off value.
Axial clearance
l  New: 0.07 ... 0.24 mm
l  Wear limit: 0.26 mm
